Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY). This handsome boy was very sweet as he stood quietly for his photos. Friendly and good-natured, he seemed to enjoy attention and peppermints from the volunteers. We were struck by his pretty neck, kind eyes, and distinctive facial markings- a kiss spot. And we liked his overall balance and proportions. We later realized that we had listed him about a year ago. At that time, his prior trainer had reported he had old osselets that were cold and tight and did not affect his soundness.  Unfortunately, the past year has not seemed to have been kind to Dettifoss; we were unable to take new jog video because he was not moving comfortably. During our photos, we observed an enlarged LF ankle and a cut on his RH. This boy (who sold for $50,000 as a 2-year old) has always earned his keep, starting his career on the NYRA circuit and breaking his maiden for special weight at Belmont. In his 56 starts, he has a 4-8-5 record and earnings exceeding $164,000. He is by Desert Party out of a Saint Ballado (Halo) mare, a very good sporting pedigree. But now he needs an angel that can address any physical issues and take a chance that giving him downtime R&R will restore him to being serviceably sound where he could be a sweet and willing partner.
