Diamonds Preferred, 2009 15.3h dappled gray mare

Diamonds may be preferred, but beautiful dappled grays aren’t far behind as a girl’s best friend!  This solid bodied and lightly raced mare has the most stunning dapples we have seen in a while.  Her trainer described her as a sweetheart who loves any and all treats — mints, carrots, apples.  He says she is sound, has no vices, and is good to gallop, since she carries herself well, settles in on a relaxed long hold, bows her head and goes about her business. In addition to being dazzled by her dapples, we admired her strong shoulder and hind end.  She posed quietly for her photos and was well behaved for her video, showing good movement tracking up well from behind. We can see dressage or eventing in this girl’s future. She is very lightly raced, with only 5 starts. Her pedigree has some good jumping lines in it. She is by Danzig’s son Defer, out of a mare by Personal Flag, from the Private Account/Damascus line.  She will be at a farm right by the Finger Lakes Race track for the winter, while she awaits her perfect new home.  She can be seen there by appointment, so please call fast, because gorgeous young sound grays go fast!
