Down Town Kitty, 2011 16.1h, dark bay gelding

This handsome guy has captured the heart of everyone who has had him in their barn because he has a great personality and never puts a hoof wrong.  We initially listed him last summer for another trainer, and at that time the trainer’s daughter said that “awesome” is Down Town Kitty’s middle name: he is awesome to handle in his stall, awesome to ride, and has an awesome personality. She reported that he is so easy, so chill, and such a kind horse that she routinely forgets to use a chain shank on him. She wanted to retrain him as her track pony, but at that time her barn had a track pony, and Down Town Kitty’s owner wanted to keep racing him and sent him to his current trainer. This trainer also says that Down Town Kitty is a great horse to handle and work around, and very friendly. He states that he is sound, but he has lost interest in racing this year.  He posed perfectly for photos, looking with alert interest around him, as we admired his solid bone and strong shoulder. Down Town Kitty was very laid back for his jog video, and althoug he moved slowly we could see good balanced movement. With his kind, quiet personality and great brain, we think Down Town Kitty can go in any direction, and would be a great horse for someone looking for a best friend to pamper and bond with. He is by Relato Del Gato, a son of Tale of the Cat out of a mare from Northern Dancer and Buckpasser lines. Kitty’s dam is  by Polish Navy, a son of Danzig, out of a Cox’s Ridge mare.
