Dublin Red, 2010 16h+ chestnut gelding

This well put together guy with a nice uphill build is a beautiful mover, and our pick for one of the diamond in the rough bargains of the meet!  Imagine how great he will look once he is cleaned up, fills out, and gets new muscling from good flat work as part of his retraining for a sport horse career.   Dublin’s only win in 30 starts came on the synthetic track at Presque Isle, where he also finished in the money on several occasions. But on the Finger Lakes dirt surface, he is not competitive, so it is time to find a new career.  With his clean legs, good temperament and kind demeanor, and lovely light movement with suspension and great reach and flow, we see huge potential for a new career in sporting disciplines.  Show hunter, jumper, eventing, dressage…. Dublin Red is a great prospect for all.  We also watched the video of Dublin’s one winning race this summer, and we saw just as lovely a gallop and canter as the trot we saw when taking his photos — fluid, balanced and flat kneed.  Dublin has an intriguing pedigree for jumping/sport disciplines, with lines one does not see often anymore in modern US TBs. His sire is by Conquistador Cielo out of an Arts and Letters mare; his dam is from the Hoist the Flag sire line through his son Blue Ensign, who is out of the immortal Ruffian’s full sister.  Who will be the lucky person who will step up to polish up this gem and bring him along in a new career?
