English Manor 2010, 16.2+ h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY). True to his name, this big sweetheart of a war horse was as dashing and genteel as any English country gentleman. This amazing, hard-working horse has 113 starts to his credit with a 15-29-12 record, and earning over $343,400. Wow! Talk about durability and consistency! His handler had nothing but superlatives to describe him, “he’s cool, he’s awesome”. We agree! She told us that she’d love to keep him & make him into her pony horse, but that her Dad had already mixed that. We found Manor to be friendly and loving during his photo shoot. He’s physically impressive- long sloping shoulder, solid & deep through his body and well-balanced. We observed him being completely agreeable as his handler stretched and positioned him. We saw flashes of cute movement, but since he had raced (and won) earlier in the week, we could also detect traces of residual stiffness during his video. We were told that he sometimes needs a little warm up when he comes out of the barn after a race. We feel in his new life, he might very much benefit from daily, regular turnout (and perhaps some initial body work) to alleviate any issues. He’s by Toccet out of Runaway Fields by Runaway (Blushing Groom lines). This war horse has paid his dues. With a little love, he is sure to shine in a variety of disciplines and be a durable and hard working partner for you too.
