This beautifully bred filly from the female family of Eclipse champion Will Take Charge should be a very appealing prospect for breeders. But with her compact, solid, and well put together conformation she should also offer great appeal as a polo or barrel prospect, or any discipline you want to do. Esky is sound and has raced well this year, with two wins and 8 in the money finishes in 11 starts, but that leaves her with few conditions left at Finger Lakes. Her groom described Esky as friendly, but with some fidgety energy in the track environment. While we were visiting with her while she was prepared for her photo session, she was curious and sweet. For her jog video Esky showed cute springy movement, with some cold blustery day spunkiness. Esky is by Eskendereya, a young sire son of Giant’s Causeway. Her dam, Tulipmania, is by Empire Maker out of a stakes winning, graded stakes placed mare who has produced multiple graded stakes winners. Tulipmania’s current two year old sold for $500,000 as a yearling, and her current yearling recently sold for $70,000, so there’s a lot of potential black type upside here. Esky’s third dam produced multiple grade 1 stakes winner Take Charge Lady, a Broodmare of the Year who is the dam of champion Will Take Charge and Grade I stakes winner Take Charge Indy, and a daughter who produced Eclipse champion Take Charge Brandi. This is one of the hottest female families in the US! It is rare to find a filly bred so well at Finger Lakes, so if you are a breeder looking to get into this stakes rich female family for a bargain price, you had better act fast.
