Fritter, 2015, 16h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester).
Fritter is a barn favorite that is adored by everyone who comes into contact with him. Our volunteers were not immune to his charm and it was rewarded with extra peppermints! We were drawn in by his beautiful face and kind eye, and his balanced solid bodied conformation. He has a beautiful  top line and good bone, and his legs are clean. He stood perfectly and politely for his photo shoot. The person who ponies him on the track glowed about him, stating he was “very sweet”, “very quiet” and “completely relaxed” on the track. Often when going to the track he doesn’t even need a pony to accompany him. He is reported to be injury free and sound by his trainer.  Although he got exuberant for his jog video on a cold morning, showing a bit more canter in hand than trot, he displayed a long, sweeping walk that had our volunteer who does dressage quite excited.  When he did trot he showed very good movement, with reach from the shoulders and a flat kneed long stride that could shine in the hunter ring as well as in the dressage arena.   Fritter is very well bred, by leading sire Candy Ride, who is from the Cryptoclearance branch of the Fappiano line. His dam Hearted is by Grand Reward, who is a son of the Hall of Fame  great racemare Serena’s Song. Fritter is a quality young gelding with unlimited potential for many new disciplines.  He is offered at an enticing end of meet bargain price — this season we have had good sized, young, sound, good moving geldings sell for much more than Fritter’s offering price.
