Gold Ghost, 2007 16.3h bay gelding

Elegant, classy, handsome… our volunteers kept reaching for superlatives when we saw Gold Ghost.  He obviously has a lot of talent, athleticism, and heart, as he has won 10 of his 60 starts, with 32 in the money finishes and almost $200,000 in earnings. He is slowing down this year, so it is time to let him find a new career. And with his soundness, durability, clean legs, good movement, work ethic, and easy going temperament, he has unlimited potential! Gold Ghost’s groom attested that he is great horse to work with, and his trainer also raved about what a consistent, good to handle, and class act he has been in the barn for several seasons. Gold Ghost has impressive size, balanced conformation, a great shoulder, a dappled coat gleaming with good health and top notch care.  We watched some of the videos of his many winning races, and we observed a beautiful, fluid, big strided gallop. We can see Gold Ghost eating up the cross country course or fox hunting with gusto.  When a horse is still clean legged and sound after several years of racing, in our experience they are very durable, transition quickly to a new career, and have many more years left to give!  Note that the wraps on his leg are standard practice in this barn, and he had already been done up by the time we were able to get his photographs. We were provided with a photo of  his front legs unwrapped, which show that they are clean and correct.
