When we walked into this shedrow to list no less than 5 horses, we spotted a HUGE horse tacked up in his stall and ready to go out for a gallop. We were excited to learn that he was one of the horses we would be asked to list! Good wheels is a big boy. A really big boy. He is only 3 and already has a lot of substance and stature and will likely grow more as he matures and fills out with a different training regiment. He is by Scat Daddy out of an Elusive Quality mare and was bred by the prominent Repole Racing Stable. He made his debut in Saratoga in a special weight heat and blew a raspberry, so was sent to Finger Lakes to try the softer competition here. He has 13 starts with 2 wins , 2 seconds and 3 third place finishes. It is entirely possible that with the benefit of time to mature he could still produce some winning efforts on the track but, being so big at such a young age, his connections are ready to move him along. His handler has also galloped him in the mornings and said he is a good boy who is athletic and sound but also has playful moments and has a good brain. We also observed good feet on this towering youngster and he is as sound as the day is long. His handler obviously likes this young gelding and had nothing but superlatives to report. One of our volunteers commented that she loved his big ears and equated that with a “big heart”, which was corroborated by his handler. One of our shoppers tagging along for the money really liked this fella so don’t hesitate to act if he strikes your fancy as well.
