Groton St. Scout, 2014 16.2h dk bay mare — retained for racing

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY
This striking big mare sure does look like an excellent sport horse prospect with her huge shoulder and very good movement. Her trainer says she is a very kind horse, really good to handle and work with, and a pleasure to be around. They are ready to move her on to a new career because in her two starts so far this season, she has not run as well as in the past.  Overall she has 3 wins and 19 in the money finishes in her 33 race career with over $100,000 in earnings, so she has been a good honest racehorse.  She was perfectly polite for her photo session, and jogged quietly on a loose lead showing a big flowing walk and a well balanced flowing trot with good engagement from behind and a flat kneed reach from her shoulders.  Groton St. Scout is by Boys at Toscanova, who is from the Relaunch/In Reality sire line coveted by many in the jumping sport horse world.  Her sire is known for getting hard trying horses who like to work and who have good athletic ability. She is out of a mare by Dehere, who is a son of Deputy Minister. She also  has Blushing Groom and Secretariat in her pedigree.  This big kind lovely mare is bargain priced to help her find a great new home.
Price: $1,000
