Harmon’s Giant, 2014 16.1h dark bay filly

This lightly raced young beauty dazzled us with her dapples, which stood out even on a gray rainy morning.  After just a couple of races, she is not showing enough racing ability to persist with a racing career, but that is the sporting world’s gain, since she has the big shoulder and pretty movement and pedigree to excel in jumping, eventing, and dressage.  She is by Frost Giant, a son of Giant’s Causeway and a Gone West mare.  Her dam is by Seeking the Gold out of a mare by Private Account, with Hoist the Flag and Buckpasser in her female family.  These are some of the best sire lines for jumping and eventing.  On the day we photographed her, she  had breezed earlier in the morning, and showed no post workout stiffness for her jog video.  She displayed light toe pointing movement. Her handler described her as sound, and as having good energy and work ethic — she said she is a filly that likes to gallop.  That sounds ideal for cross country! The handler said that Harmon’s Giant is a good girl to handle and work with, and is not marish.   Because Harmon’s Giant is young, forward, and athletic, we think she is best suited for a more experienced rider looking for a sport horse prospect — and we think she is an excellent sport horse prospect!
