Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY). We admit that sometimes we are suckers for a flashy chestnut with chrome. This mare was described to us as a “nice little horse” and that’s exactly what she was! We saw a quiet and very agreeable girl in her stall. She has a compact, muscular build with the balance that suggests she would excel in agility sports. And we think she’d be adorable under western tack. She is close coupled, with a wide chest, and we observed tight, sturdy legs. Her owner/trainer told us she is sound and spoke of her with affection saying, “that she’s made her money racing” but he sees that it is getting harder on her as she’s gotten older and he is interested in finding her a good home. This mare has paid her dues, hitting on the boards in 61% of her races, earning over $145,000 in 33 starts with a 5-6-9 record. She’s been a reliable, durable, and hard-working horse. She is entered to run again in her last race on Wednesday (11/13/19), giving you the chance to see her in action. She jogged soundly for us in her video with cute, springy movement. She is by Freud (with Storm Cat, Blushing Groom, and Roberto in her sire’s pedigree), out of a Capetown mare (with Buckpasser, Seatle Slew, Ribot and Damascus influences on her distaff side). Chunky and spunky, we think she’d make a flashy little barrel racer/ game horse or polo prospect and that she has a great J.C. name for it to boot!
