Ice Cold King, 2015 16+h chestnut gelding

This adorable young beefcake is showing no racing ability, but he sure does look and move like a fancy show hunter prospect!  Ice Cold King is unraced, but he has had several timed workouts, so he is fully eligible for the 2019 RRP.  In these workouts, he is demonstrating that he is too slow to bother racing him. His trainer, who also rides him, says he is lovely to ride, and that he loves to train and gallop along in a group, can gallop along all day without getting tired, but just has no speed. She said he is very sound, and is a very sweet, friendly, and laid back horse.  She described him as a very easy keeper, as evidenced by his solid physique –“he can get fat on air” she said!  Ice Cold King also has good feet, and is barefoot and has been training without shoes on both a dirt and a synthetic track surface.  For his jog video Ice Cold King showed off light, flowing flat kneed movement with good suspension — as we watched him trot we said “Wow, if that is how he moves barefoot on pavement, we can’t wait to see him move with shoes on good show arena footing!”  He also showed how unflappable he is, as the trainer’s dog barked and nipped at his heels to encourage him to trot on, and Ice Cold King acted like he couldn’t care less.  The trainer says he is great with other horses in turn out, and we saw her turn him out with his pony friend after we were finished with our photo session.   He has a great sport horse pedigree. His sire is Perfect Soul, a son of Sadler’s Wells out of a Secretariat mare.  His dam is by Not For Love out of a Seattle Slew mare.  The trainer says she also knew and worked with him dam, and she is also a very sweet horse.
