It Must Be Nice, 2014, 16h, gray gelding.

This gorgeous and sweet young gelding is a favorite of his trainer, and our volunteers loved him too! Nicknamed “Bitty,” his trainer calls him her pet as he is super kind, and a very “in your pocket” type of guy. He has no stall vices. She has taken him home in the off-season so he has been turned out and introduced to dogs, cats, chickens and children. She allows her young children to poultice his legs, give him treats, etc because of his kind demeanor. She describes him as “perfect” and got teary eyed when she brought him out to show him. But she knows it is time to let him move on to a new career because he just has not been competitive in racing this year even though in the past two years he won three races and had ten additional in the money finishes. “Bitty’s” trainer reports that he has a small, old set osselet that is cold and does not bother him. But she reports that “Bitty” does get body sore after racing, though not after breezing. She has addressed this with chiropractic work, massage, and acupuncture, but she just believes he is ready for a new career. We could see him going in any direction! It Must Be Nice has an outstanding pedigree for sporting/ jumping disciplines. He is by Include, who is by Broad Brush out of a mare from the Hail to Reason branch of the Turn-to sire line. His dam Meander is by Maria’s Mon — and Maria’s Mon offspring were rated in a recent issue of the RRP’s Off-track Thoroughbred Magazine as one of the sire lines most successful in jumping disciplines, who are also known as good movers with great brains.. To add to the sporting pedigree appeal, his second dam is by Dixieland Band. A very good home is most important for this very loved horse, so references will be requested and checked.
