Florida bred Benny has had enough of the racing life and is ready to retire with a decent race record out of few lifetime starts. Benny had recently trained on the morning of her photo session and, with the brisk air swirling around us, she was feeling exuberant but did her best to be respectful of her handler so we could get conformation shots with all four on the floor. We immediately noted her sturdy, big body with a deep barrel and pretty neck. Benny is reported to be sound and we noted cold, tight legs after her morning gallop. As is often the case with racehorses that have gone through most of their conditions, Benny’s connections would prefer to retire her from racing rather than winter her and try again next year. Benny is by Yesbyjimminy (Yes It’s True) out of a Tactical Advantage mare, with 3 wins out of 22 lifetime starts. She hasn’t exactly lit up the board but she has been an honest earner. We think that Benny would enjoy a new home as an eventer or hunter/jumper, or whatever suits her in her off-track life, no matter the climate.
