Here’s a grand gorgeous war horse, whose legs are still pristinely clean, and his trainer describes him as “sound as a bell.” The RRP has a special $500 award for the top placing war horse, and we think Jolson will be a prime candidate to win it in 2019!   If ever a horse deserved the very best of new homes in which to enjoy a new career and being doted on, it is Jolson.  He epitomizes the heart and durability of the blue collar race horse — and he’s been quite the race horse over his long career.  He has 20 wins, 15 places, and 11 shows in 107 starts, with nearly $300,000 in earnings, and he is still happy and eager to greet each new day and go to work! In 2015, Jolson was in the top 20 of all race horses in the entire country for most wins in the year! Jolson gleams with good care, with shiny dapples to complement his elegant classy presence. He has very nice balanced conformation and showed good balanced movement at the trot, although his handler was moving too slow to let him really strut his stuff.  We were amazed at how clean and tight Jolson’s legs are — he looks better than most of the much younger horses we see at the track.  This is a sound horse with many more years to give to the person lucky enough to bring this classy guy into their lives.  While Jolson is still winning races this year, his owner/trainer knows that it is time to let him move on to a more leisurely life.     He is by Theatrical out of a Conquistador Cielo mare.
