Justenuffkick, 2013 16h chestnut mare: retained for racing

This solid bodied dark chestnut beauty impressed us with her balanced and compact build that looks very athletic.  She was described as the favorite of many of the grooms in this trainer’s barn — which is saying quite a lot since this barn has very nice, well cared for, well mannered quality horses! They kept telling us that she is “just a really good girl,”  good to groom and handle, good to ride. We interrupted her post-workout bath to take her photos, and on a blustery day with a cold wind, she was still a bit up from the workout, so she showed her oats for the jog… but we could still see light balanced movement with nice reach from the shoulders.  We watched videos of her winning races to get more assessment of her movement, and we observed balanced, fluid, correct movement with a flowing canter and a lovely flat kneed reach to her trot.  We can see her standing out in the hunter ring, or in dressage.  Her trainer says she is sound, and her legs looked clean.  She has had only 14 starts, with 3 wins, 3 seconds, and 2 thirds, so she is obviously competitive with heart.  She has a turf oriented pedigree, and has shown a preference for the synthetic surface at Presque Isle, which is done for the year, so her trainer thinks now is a good time to lit this beautiful young filly find a new career.   She is by Justenuffhumor, whose dam is a half sister to turn champion and top sire Kitten’s Joy, and her dam is by Regal Classic, who has produced several horses that we know of who have gone on to impressive careers as show hunters or eventers. This barn cares deeply about finding great homes for their horses, and likes to follow them in their new careers.  We too look forward to following what we think will be an exciting new career in a sporting discipline.
Price: $3,000 negotiable to an excellent home.
