Kitty’s Roar, 2011, 15.3 Dark Bay Mare: retained for racing

This fancy girl has an interesting story that should be very compelling to many shoppers!  While Kitty stood perfectly quietly in the road while other horses nearby were leaping through the air, her trainer filled us in on Kitty’s life story.  Kitty was broke to ride at 2 years old, but then her owner never put her into full race training due to financial constraints.  Instead they turned her out and let her hang out on the farm for quite some time.  She was not actually brought back to the racetrack until this year with her current connections.  They said she was cool as a cucumber for re-breaking and race training and took everything in stride.  She is very lightly raced with only two starts.  Although she has done okay in her two starts, Finger Lakes does not allow 7 year old maiden horses and they are not confident she will break her maiden prior to the end of the meet.  This is a fabulous opportunity to get a smart, mature horse who is past the years of funny business and baby moments that is also very lightly raced with minimal (if any) wear and tear.  Her handler reports she is sound, has no vices, and is easy to work around and ride.  She is by Relato Del Gato out of a Cyrano mare.  Please note the contact person is a liaison for the owner/trainer who does not speak English.  Although she does not own the mare, she knows her very well and will do her very best to answer any and all questions. She is a wonderful asset to us at Finger Lakes Finest, so please be appreciative of the time she puts in to helping horses that are not hers. References will be required.
