This tank of a horse is aptly named! Wow, what a looker this guy is. His breeding is exceptional and his race record reflects a highly respectable number of in-the-money finishes out of 39 starts. He is reported to be a classy guy to work with who never puts a foot wrong. We had the benefit of getting the input of his regular rider who said that he is a professional, knows his job, puts his head down and is all business on the track, although he is a powerful boy and is strong in the racetrack environment. We were delighted to see beautiful movement, with a big flowing stride, suspension, cadence, and loft, maintaining a natural frame, that had our assembled group of volunteers exclaiming with oohs and ahhs! The fact that he showed such great movement although he had to be contained on difficult, icy footing makes us think that in a different environment with good footing he will be a truly spectacular mover. We can envision him excelling as a dressage mount, or in the hunter ring or in eventing. He is a good prospect for a large or tall rider with his solid bone and substantial build. He cost $300,000 as a two year old, so we’re not the only ones who think he is indeed a knockout in the looks department. He is by champion sire Smart Strike, out of a mare by Red Ransom, a son of Roberto and grandson of Damascus. These are great sport/jumping lines.
