Krafty Kate, 2017 16h dark bay filly

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)
We think that Kate is going to be an amazing sport horse when given time to grow up and mature!  She has it all — beautiful looks, solid bone, an alert and inquisitive personality, very good movement, and an ideal sport horse pedigree. Kate is described as very sound,  a sweetheart to work with, interested in what is going on — but so far in her 4 starts she has not shown enough racing ability to persist.  She is bred to run long on the turf — which bodes well for eventing, but it hasn’t led to success in the sprint races that predominate on the hard dirt track at Finger Lakes.  On a blustery day that had many horses showing their frisky side, Kate was remarkably responsive to her handler for her jog video, and showed light and balanced movement with excellent suspension.  She is already a good sized horse at 2, and since she surely will grow more, we think she is going to mature into a big and physically impressive mare!  She is sired by Japan, a young son of Medaglia D’Oro, who is from the El Prado/Sadler’s Wells sire line. Her Irish bred dam is by champion European sire Darshaan, who is from the Mill Reef/Never Bend sire line. This fancy filly with huge sporting potential is offered at an enticing bargain price for the person who can show patience in bringing this youngster along the right way.
