That LDK is Mine, 2012, 16.1h grey gelding: retained for racing

If you’re on the hunt for a calm and cool solid citizen of a horse, we think this gorgeous and very solid bodied horse could be your guy. He is a stunningly beautiful horse, kind and quiet, and very solidly built. LDK’s handler had nothing but wonderful things to say about him. She reports that LDK is one of the kindest, gentlest horses she has had the privilege of working with on the backside. His trainer has some physical limitations that impact his ability to walk and LDK reportedly walks very quietly on a loose lead around the shed row, even while his trainer is on crutches. He is able to have his mane pulled and ears trimmed without being tied. On a chilly, windy day, LDK stood totally still for his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention. He was a peppermint hound and wanted to crawl right into our volunteer’s pocket. His handler reports that he is retiring without any known injuries or vices. We took his video just a couple of days after his last race, and he showed a bit of high hock action typical of horses who have raced on the hard surface at Finger lakes … but time off and chiro can take care of thisl LDK has been a successful racehorse earning over $79,000 in his 47 starts with 5 wins, 10 seconds, and 11 thirds. He has hit the board in nearly 50% of his races this year. However, his trainer feels that he is ready to move onto a less strenuous discipline. He could go in so many different directions! We think he could even look quite snazzy in some western tack. His pedigree should appeal to the sport horse enthusiasts as he is by Lemon Drop Kid out of an Indian Charlie mare.
