Little Twitch, 2012 16.1h bay mare: retained for racing

This very pretty and athletic daughter of Burning Roma impressed us with her solid, correct build. Her trainer is confident due to her athleticism and heart that she is going to be a great jumper, and he has experience in those disciplines. She has been a good consistent race horse, with 7 wins and 50% in the money finishes in her 30 starts. This year, she has two wins. But she sometimes bleeds from capillaries in her lungs in her races, especially in hot muggy summer weather, so he wants to let her move on to a new career.  Horses who bleed during the strenuous exertion of racing rarely have any issues in other disciplines, including upper level jumping and eventing, especially when they are in an environment with turn out and with better ventilation that typically found in track barns.  She is sound and her legs are clean. He says she  is great to handle, cross ties, is excellent on his farm in turn out, and has no vices.  He has just pulled her shoes to prepare her for the winter off on the farm, so she was slightly foot sore for her jog video, but we could see nonetheless that she has good engagement from behind and nice reach from her shoulders.  She has an excellent sport pedigree. Her sire Burning Roma is known for getting athletic hard trying great brained horses, and he is a Fappiano grandson out of a mare form NOdouble, Northern Dancer, and Princequillo lines. Little Twitch’s dam has Runaway Groom and Blushing Groom, Roberto, and Hail to Reason close up in her pedigree.  This mare is an outstanding prospect for jumping disciplines, and is offered at an enticing price. SInce the track stable area will be closing in a week, she will shortly be moving to her owner/trainer’s farm in Ontario NY, north of the Finger Lakes track, for the winter, and with an appointment you can go see her there.
