This black beauty may be short in stature but she is built like a tank and will take up a lot of leg. We admired her impressive hind end from the side and the back, as well as a very nice shoulder. Malissa is relatively lightly raced with only 17 lifetime starts, but now that she has won 3 races, as so often happens, the competition is getting stiffer and she isn’t up to the continued rigors of racing.Unfortunately, Malissa has developed a sore left knee but no diagnostics have been done by the trainer. She was just slightly off at the jog a couple of weeks after a race, but one can see that once she fully heals she is a very cute mover. With a bit more down time from the rigors of racing, she should be OK for lower level disciplines. She appeared to be very mellow and sweet during her photo session and her trainer reported that she is easy to work with. Malissa is by Roaring Fever out of a More Than Ready mare.
