Merlin Circle (Merl) is a chestnut horse who stands about 16 hands. As testament to his gentle and quiet disposition, when we photographed him he had not yet been out of his stall, so he could have been a bit on his toes, but he was quiet and well behaved. I think his trainer has a soft spot for him as Merl has quite a passion for peppermints! At one point the trainer dropped the shank and Merl stood like a statue while the trainer laughed about the horse following him like a puppy dog! Merl’s people recognize that his heart isn’t in the game anymore and it’s time for him to move on.
