This big beautiful moving dark chestnut has two siblings who are successful event horses — and we think that Mickey wants to follow in their footsteps! He is a much-loved homebred, so you can learn his entire history from his owner/trainer. He says Mickey is very sound, has never had any issues, and we observed clean legs. Mickey has been in the money in 22 out of 37 starts, which attests to his work ethic and competitive spirit. But this year he is not running as well, so his connections want to give him the chance to go on and flourish in a sporting career just as his siblings have done. The owner/trainer says Mickey has a good temperament and is easy to work with. He says when he is at the farm he is a loveable horse who loves to be brushed and hang out with people and other horses — and he turns out well with anyone. The trainer says that at the track, Mickey sometimes cribs on his food bucket at feeding time. For his jog video Mickey showed off beautiful movement, light, balanced, with suspension and a lovely cadence. We can see him rocking the dressage phase! Mickey is by Badge, who comes form the Bold Forbes sire line out of a Raja Baba mare. His dam is by Gulch’s full brother, out of a mare from the Sir Ivor line. Mickey’s full sister, Our Helen Wheels, who was placed through FLF a few years ago, is a bold and scopy jumper who is excelling in eventing and on hunter paces. Don’t let Mickey’s plain “no chrome” looks deter you from getting what we think is one of the best event or dressage prospects we have offered this year!
