MISS ROSS, 2016 16.1h chestnut mare

Miss Ross is so unique looking with her eye-catching white spots splashed across her chestnut coat. She struck as a very sensible laid back lady as we watched her trainer get her from the walking machine; he dropped the lead rope on the ground and she stood like an model as he took off her boots and wiped the dust off her legs to ready her for her photo session.  The trainer confirmed that she is indeed a very good girl, lovely and easy to handle, with no vices and a friendly kind attitude. He reports that she is sound although she sometimes gets stiff for a day or two after a race.  We saw her just a couple of days after she had raced and she looked good.  She has raced 28 times, with just one win to show for her efforts, so the trainer knows it is time to let her move on to a new career.  She has no known limitations for any discipline.  Her sire is Bob and John, who is a son of Seeking the Gold out of a Deputy Minister mare.  Her dam comes from Seattle Slew and Buckpasser lines — excellent sport horse lines.  Her dam sire is a half brother to Grand Slam, who was a very popular sport horse sire loved by eventers and H/J riders alike. Lots of potential in this spotted beauty!
