Montybythemarsh, aka Monty, 2015 17.1h dark bay gelding

Located at a farm in Clifton Springs, NY, near Finger Lakes Race Track.
Here is a huge, stunning, almost black gentle giant who is the true blank slate to start your way.  Monty is  unridden, and unregistered, but you can  undo those “uns”!  He has been  saddled and bridled, but his  owner/breeder just has not had the time to get him trained to ride.  But that means you can start him exactly how you prefer, for the discipline of your choice. Monty is a true 17.1 hands — we sticked him — and he may well still grow some more. He is a beautiful mover with spring and reach — you can hear observers say a spontaneous “wow” on his jog video.  Monty is also a very quiet and laid back gentleman — his handler reported that her 7 year old child handles him, and as you can see on the video, he jogged with just a lead rope, no chain.  Monty is completely sound, with clean legs. His owner took her time in letting him grow and mature, and then realized this year that he was just too big to try to make him into a race horse. She thinks he would make a spectacular dressage prospect, and we also think that he could stand out in the show hunter ring, or in jumping and eventing.  Monty is a half brother to Noontime Girl, out of the same dam.  His sire is Marsh Side, who is a son of Gone West and was a stakes winner running long on the turf — attributes that usually translate well to eventing.  We have placed other Marsh Side offspring that are also big and beautiful movers with great brains, and they are succeeding as show hunters and in dressage. His dam is Meringue, who is Smoke Glacken, who is by Two Punch. This sire line is much sought after in the eventing and jumping world. Huge young gorgeous fancy moving and quiet horses with superstar potential like Monty don’t come around very often, so move fast if you want to be the lucky one to take advantage of this rare opportunity.
