Mr. Yabo’s exercise rider, who is also the contact person, hailed us as she rode him back from galloping, asking us to come over and photograph him. She describes Mr. Yabo as very good to ride, athletic, and as a very friendly and intelligent horse. His trainer echoed those sentiments, and added to Mr. Yabo is inquisitive and interested in what goes on around him. He also told us that Yabo is sound, and we observed clean legs. Mr. Yabo is a big, well balanced and elegant and athletic looking horse with a beautiful head and kind expression. He jogged politely on a loose lead, showing good balanced movement, just after he had galloped a mile and a half on the track. As we asked his trainer to walk him back, he explained that he was going to let Yabo stand and look out at the track, explaining that Yabo liked to take in his surroundings — that inquisitive personality he told us about — and he was happy to let him do so. His sire, Heavy Breathing, is a full brother to Frost Giant. We have placed a couple of Heavy Breathing offspring in the last couple of years who are quickly succeeding in new careers — one as a fancy show hunter and one as an eventer who is moving quickly up the levels. Their new connections tell us that both horses have great brains, are very quick learners, and are outstanding jumpers and they would love to have more! We think that Mr. Yabo has all the aptitude of his siblings for a new sporting career. His dam is by Stalwart, who is a Hoist the Flag son, bringing in stout Ribot bloodlines. Big young sound athletic geldings are what everyone wants, so don’t hesitate to call on Mr. Yabo.
