This handsome tank of a horse was on the listings a couple years ago but was
retained for racing by his current owner/trainer who also bred him.
They are finally ready to find him a life off the track since he has not shown much racing ability, but with his solid, well conformed body, clean legs, and good movement with suspension, we think he can excel in just about any discipline. He has excellent sport bloodlines, by Orville N Wilburs from the Cox’s Ridge sire line. Shao was very quiet on the day we took his new pictures and video, as you can see with the shank hooked under his chin. His trainer describes him as a sound horse who likes to work and is a gentleman on the ground. He is also described as fun to gallop with a nice way of going. For his jog video he showed even balanced movement with suspension and a good reach to his trot. We can see him having great potential for dressage, eventing, or the hunter/jumper disciplines; but we also have a barrel racing friend who thinks he could excel there as well.
