One Sharp Cat, 2013 15.3h bay filly

This young girl has classic conformation, excellent breeding, and is a very good mover!  Her trainer says she is very smart and athletic, and showed good speed and racing talent, winning at the maiden special weight and allowance level last year. But she recently got cut up in a starting gate incident, and they do not want to keep racing her because they do not think she will want to encounter the gate any more. Her cuts are healing well, and she showed no stiffness or ill effects at all for her jog video.  She showed off very good movement, light and balanced.  She was perfectly behaved for her photo session, and showed affection for her handler.  Her trainer says she will need to go to an experienced horse person, since One Sharp Cat is the type of  smart mare that will test a person to see if they know how to set boundaries — not mean in the slightest, just trying to see if you will be the boss or if she can be. Once she knows that she is dealing with a person who can be her leader, she is fine, they say. With her speed, athleticism and balance, we can see her as a polo prospect. But she is certainly fancy enough to be a show hunter, jumper, or dressage horse. She is by Bluegrass Cat out of a mare by Gone for Real, who is by Gone Wests out of a mare from the Sir Gaylord line.  Her dam is a full sister to a stakes placed, stakes producing mare, and the second dam is a full sister to a graded stakes winner. So there is enticing broodmare potential in this filly too.  She is offered at a bargain price, and we think she might turn out to be one of the deals of the season to the right person!
