Paterson, 2017, 16h dark bay filly

Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Rochester, NY.
Breeder alert– this filly presents a rare opportunity to obtain a very well bred young daughter of current top sire sensation Uncle Mo for a bargain price. Just last year, Paterson sold for $210,000 as a yearling, and for good reason. Her sire, Uncle Mo, is one of the hottest, most desirable young stallions in thoroughbred breeding.  Paterson is a half sister to a current three year old stakes winning colt, and her young dam may have many more stakes winning offspring in her future.  Paterson’s dam, D’Elegance, is stakes placed daughter of El Corredor, and Paterson’s second dam is a multiple stakes producer, including of a  graded stakes winner.  The third dam is graded stakes placed.  Paterson’s female family is the same female family as the immortal Secretariat: her fifth dam is a sister to Somethingroyal, the dam not only of Secretariat, but also of Sir Gaylord and other stakes winners.  Paterson’s female family is one of the best in the US stud book, a renowned family developed by the late Mr. Chenery of Meadow Stud.  While we really think Paterson will appeal to serious breeders, she could go in other directions as well.  Her connection reported she is retiring sound and without vices.  She did not end up having the racing talent of her family members.  Her connections are ready to move her on after only two races, so she is truly a blank slate!  At only 2 years old, she would likely benefit from some time to let down before restarting (which is what we recommend for any horse coming off the track).  She was a bit nervous and exuberant for her photo shoot and jog video, but was respectful of her handler.  Her connections report that she is no longer working and has only been handwalking, so this is to be expected, especially in the cold!
