Pepe, 2010, 16.1+, Bay Gelding: retained for racing

Looking for your new barn favorite?? This handsome bay gelding is a trainer favorite and checks all the boxes for so many of our shoppers. His groom couldn’t find enough great things to say about him and we could tell the whole farm would like to keep him around if he could!  His thick bone structure and solid frame will take up even the tallest rider’s leg. He is racing fit– he ran recently in Ohio before returning home to the Finger Lakes area to be let down and listed for sale. His trainer reports he lost a bit of weight in Ohio, but that he is typically an easier keeper.  It is obvious that he will be massive once he is fully let down and fills out!  He showed excellent movement during his jog video.  We could see him really excelling as an eventing horse, although certainly he could go in any direction.  He had a tie back surgery as a youngster which obviously has not hindered him.  His feed buckets are placed on the ground for this reason.  His trainer reports that on occasion he mildly cribs, only at feeding time or after getting peppermints but does not do it enough to warrant a cribbing collar.  She reports he has nice manners for grooming and tacking and is a rider favorite.  We think this hunk could be a popular one!  He is by Harlan’s Holiday out of a Carson City mare. Pepe is RRP eligible!
