Pure Grit, 4 year old, 15.2 chestnut gelding: Placed!

Update: He has found a great new home! He is now in Illinois, where he will get rehab care for his knee and then will be a trail and pleasure horse for a new owner who is thrileld with his pretty looks and sweet personality.

Update July 2013:  We listed Pure Grit last fall, but then his owner decided to keep him for racing this year. He was rested over the winter, and came back to the track completely sound. But after multiple breezes a few days apart, his knee has started bothering him, so they have wisely decided ot stop on him, not race him, and find him a good home. With a little time to rest the knee, his trainer is confident he should once again come back sound, and looks like he has good potential as a children’s hunter or pleasure horse. He is very sweet and quiet, and a lovely mover.

Here is his write up from the fall of 2012: Looking for a flashy but quiet horse to take you to the show ring? We think we have found him in this nice guy. He’s well put together and was very quiet to handle despite a bouncy horse going right by him on the road. He even jogged quietly. Unfortunately the dismal rainy day didn’t show off his brilliant shiny copper coat. Take a look at his gorgeous sire, Pure Prize, to see that gleaming coat  Well put together, with a nice shoulder and short cannon bones he might make a lovely show hunter. Trainer says he has no vices. He did have a sore knee earlier ths summer, but we have been told he is now fully sound.  Come out to confirm how sweet, quiet and gorgeous he really is.
