Reading Group, 2007, 15.3+ Bay Gelding

This big-bodied gelding has done his time on the race track and is ready to be let down and retire to a new career. He has been a good race horse– with 53 starts and career earnings of over $100,000. Reading Group is a durable mount who knows his job. His trainer reported he comes out every day looking forward to working.  His pictures do not do his correct conformation justice! Anyone who has spent winters in the Finger Lakes region can tell you that bright blue skies and mild temperatures in February are an exhilarating sight– and Reading Group agreed. While he was very alert during his meet and greet, he was respectful of his handler, despite the excitement of the day. His trainer reports that he has not yet had the benefits of turnout time off the track, but he will likely settle right into a turnout routine in his next career. Reading Group had a splint removal procedure several years ago and returned to racing sound.  Because of this, his trainer would like to see him go somewhere with lower level event/jumper goals. He has been with his current connections, who are known for their great caretaking, for many years.  You can be rest assured that they will provide honest answers and information for all interested parties. No stable vices.  His sport potential is underscored by his pedigree. He is by Readthefootnotes, from the Smoke Glacken/Two Punch sire line.
