From a wonderful barn whose horses always gleam with good care, Richie is no exception.  This big, handsome, dappled young boy impressed us with his solid body and good strong shoulder, and very good movement with lightness and suspension. Richie is ready to move on to a new career because since his trainer got him in Pennsylvania last winter, he has not run well at Finger Lakes, and she does not believe in pushing horses to do something that do not excel at when they are sound and have so much potential for a new career. Richie has huge potential for many new disciplines; we can see him excelling in eventing or in the hunter/jumper arena. Richie’s trainer says he is sound, and we observed nice clean legs. She also says he is a very sensible good boy with no bad habits, nice to be around, a good shipper, who turns out well with other horses.  For his jog video, Richie showed lightness, suspension, and a toe pointing trot, and he was perfectly behaved despite lots of activity around him.  Richie is what everyone says they want — a young, lightly raced, sound, pretty, big, quiet, nice moving gelding, and he is reasonably priced for his quality and potential. So do not hesitate to call fast!
