Sadie the Saint, 2013 15.1+h bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY). Poor Sadie, it looks like we got this pretty mare out of bed before breakfast! A  long-time volunteer favorite, we’ve always enjoyed stopping by to visit with her. She’s a well-put together little mare who will be beautiful once you get out a brush and give her a mini spa treatment. We love her cute face, her deep, compact body, her great shoulder, top line and neck. She even has a cute little dorsal stripe! Her trainer reports she is sound and a good girl to work around, which is what we’ve always observed. She hasn’t been in work and would likely appreciate and benefit from a little TLC and turnout. We’ve always considered her to be a very her to be a very cute mover and in her video, she displayed light, airy movement. In her 39 starts, she’s earned over $31,000 with a 2-5-6 record, but hasn’t been competitive in the past year. She is a New York bred girl by Misremembered, a son of the great Candy Ride, from the Cryptoclearance branch of the Fappiano line. Her dam, who has produced a New York Stakes winner, is by Three Wonders (a son of Storm Cat) out of a mare from the Gone West line. If you are looking for a smaller mare, that has ‘been there, done that’ attitude, and that is versatile enough to go in many different sport directions, then this is your girl! She could excel in western disciplines or be a fantastic barrel prospect. She’s also quiet enough to be considered (with training and support) for a junior rider and versatile enough be a great Pony Club or 4-H mount (she could be the type of horse who could show in English and Western and Games divisions during 4-H fair week and be competitive in everything!). She certainly has the potential to be a great little 2020 RRP Makeover prospect as well. Her owners are challenged by a large number of horses on their farm to winter, and are urgently looking to place this cutie-pie into a great home before the snow flies.
