Our volunteers first saw this horse in his stall where his connections were putting a spit polish on him. Our first impression is that he looked like a small Clydesdale! Out of his stall, standing in the road for us to ogle, we were just bowled over by everything about him. His owner quipped “now that’s a classy chassis” and we couldn’t agree more. Sammy is only three but he looks and acts like a more mature horse. Since he was gelded 6 weeks ago, Sammy has started to blossom and come into himself. The connections tell us that he was a good boy as a colt, but is transforming from a good colt to an even greater gelding. Sammy has only 2 races under his belt and, even though he showed little, he’s such a big, heavy horse that it’s possible that he would need more time to develop racing skills. But the connections are doing what they think is best by moving him on and we are excited to follow his progress in his next adventure. We think Sammy is an exceptional prospect and worth everything penny of the asking price. He is reported to be sound, quiet, sweet and an all around good citizen. Sammy is by First Samurai, a son of Giant’s Causeway out of a Rockport Harbor mare, an excellent pedigree for sporting disciplines.
