Sarah’s Rainbow, 2016, 16.2h bay filly

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY). “The quietest, sweetest, most easy going, innocent, 3-year old filly I ever met. A doll!” That’s how her trainer first introduced this filly. And after her photo shoot, we were gushing her praises too! Super cute, everyone loved her distinctive ears that curled in, “like reindeer ears”. This photogenic girl was adorable and cooperative during her pictures, posing like a pro! She was so sweet and quiet that she did not even need a shank over her nose for her jog video (on a chilly and blustery day that was giving most horses the “woo-hoo’s”). We loved her long sloping shoulder, pretty neck and classically elegant proportions. We were told that she is “always sound”; we observed a clean legged,  freely moving filly with no residual stiffness event though she had last raced only a few days prior to our visit. Tall and leggy, she has a more slender build but is still growing and will fill out a bit more. In her video, we saw a nice over reach at the walk and a relaxed, athletic jog with spring and lightness that would be equally suited for the hunter or dressage ring. She’s pretty, shiny and dappled, with just enough chrome to have a little flash too! She began her career at larger tracks (Aqueduct, Belmont) but has yet to place on the boards out of her 15 starts. Her owner has decided that she’s not cut out to race on dirt tracks (like Finger Lakes) and has decided to move this adorable filly on to a new career. Sarah’s Rainbow is by Shackleford (Storm Cat, Unbridled, Roberto / Lear Fan bloodlines) and out of a Distinctive Pro mare (Damascus & Hoist the Flag influences), so she also has a pedigree for sport. We feel that she will be a fun, flashy and willing partner in whatever discipline you pursue. Is she the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow? Better act quickly or another lucky leprechaun might get her first!
