This very pretty, well balanced and sound guy drew us in with his alert elegance and friendly personality. He has been a hard knocking successful race horse who has won over $95,000 for people, but this year he is telling his owner/trainer that his heart just isn’t in the racing game anymore, so it is time to find him a new career.  With his looks, clean legs, balance, great shoulder, intelligence, and nice movement, we can see that career being anything, from the hunter ring to eventing, dressage, or even a great trail horse. His trainer kept saying he would make a great show horse with his beauty.  He said Sandy is a very happy horse galloping in the mornings, but just doesn’t want to run fast in the afternoon anymore. He is described as kind and friendly, nice to handle and ride, with no vices. We felt his legs, and they were clean, tight and cool, even though he had raced just the day before.  He has a great pedigree for sport, by the popular and durable stallion Say Florida Sandy (from the Personal Flag/Private Account/Damascus line so loved by eventers), who has several progeny successfully eventing or showing over fences, out of a mare by Saint Ballado from the Halo/Hail to Reason line. This horse is a real gem, but he needs to find a new home very soon, because his trainer needs the stall.
