This mare was listed by us last year and was sold for racing and, once again, she shows up at the end of the meet, no less intriguing as a sporting prospect. “Hooker” is a year older but still retains the feminine good looks that she showed last year. She has an athletic build and is tucked up now from racing, but we can envision a beautifully muscled girl when she starts retraining with a different discipline. She is an honest and productive racehorse with 6 wins, 6 seconds and 4 thirds from 44 lifetime starts, a really decent record that is testament to her heart and hardiness. She is also reported to be a quiet ride under tack. As a daughter of Hook and Ladder, she is desirable for his propensity to throw babies with good brains and athleticism and jumping ability. We know several alumna that have gone on to successful sporting careers. Her dam is by Seattle Slew, a line also popular with jumping/sporting/hunting disciplines. The trainer who had She’s Off the Hook last year comes form a hunter/jumper background, and she thought this filly has great potential for those disciplines.
At the jog, “Hooker” displays a nice, balanced trot with nice reaching movement, which we noted last year when she was initially listed.  This beautiful, feminine mare is a steal at $500.
