Side Proposal, 2014 16.2h bay gelding

Here is the “magic unicorn” that everyone says they want: young, big, gorgeous, sound, great mover, steady temperament, and reasonably priced.  Let the shopping frenzy begin!  After only 5 races, it is obvious to his trainer that racing is not where this horse’s talent lies. He describes Side Proposal as “very sound but very slow.” Racing’s loss is your gain — and we can see this stunning young guy excelling as a show hunter, a dressage horse, an eventer. The trainer says that Side Proposal is a very good boy, good to handle, has never had any issues, and has no vices.  The groom who showed him to us agreed that he is a lovely horse to work with, and he certainly posed perfectly for us and jogged politely on a cold blustery day that had many other horses snorting.  We were oohing and aahing when we watched his trot — light, floaty, with a beautiful flowing reach…. and this was only two days after he raced!  Side Proposal is plenty big now, but since he is only three we expect that he will grow some more.  He has a great pedigree for sport disciplines. He is by Marsh Side, a son of Gone West out of a Pleasant Colony mare. His dam is by Prized, who is a son of Kris S., who is by Roberto. Valid Appeal, In Reality, Stage Door Johnny are some of the other sire lines in his pedigree that are admired in the jumping disciplines.
