Slamin Sami Brown, 2016 16.1h bay filly

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester).  Looking for a beautiful daughter of the great Big Brown? Well hello pretty girl, here she is! We think her name should be Sweet Sami Brown, because while she has not been slammin on the race track, she is as sweet and kind as the day is long. She posed beautifully and soaked up our attention and peppermints. Her trainer says she is a really good girl, very kind to handle and has no vices. She has had only 5 starts, with one win, and while her trainer says she has a great work ethic and tries hard, she is not going to be successful at the next level of competition. She has what her trainer described as “puffy” knees, and shows some soreness for a few days after racing or working out.  We photographed her right after she had trained (the saddle mark was still on her) and she did show a bit of the effects, but we could also see that once she gets some R & R she will be a very cute mover.  They have not done any diagnostics on her knees — they said she came to them that way and has raced on those “puffy” knees. A flat work career might be her best option.  But she also has a great sport horse pedigree, and we think with her good bone and correct conformation that she is an excellent broodmare prospect, whether for sporthorse or racehorse breeding. Her sire, champion Big Brown, is from the Danzig sire line out of a mare by Nureyev with Roberto close up.  Sami’s dam is by Frost Giant, by Giant’s Causeway, and both of these sires are coveted in the sport horse/jumping/eventing disciplines. Her second dam is a stakes winner, and her female family has produced many hardy and very successful race horses.
