SPORTINI, 2018 17h bay colt

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)
The quality breeding shines through in this stunning big colt, who exudes elegance. On a day when we saw one beautiful horse after another, Sportini rose to the top of the class as “the fairest of them all.” The photos do not do justice to how gorgeous this horse is in person.  He is very well put together with a chiseled beautiful head and kind eye that draws you in.  He is not studdish at all — indeed we were taken by how friendly and polite he is. He just loved the neck skritches we gave him, nuzzling for more. His groom raved about what a great horse he is, wonderful to handle with no vices. He showed off very good movement in his jog video, with a big stride and a light flatter kneed and flowing trot.  Sportini’s trainer says that his left knee gets slightly sore for a day or two after a race, so despite how well Sportini is performing he thinks it is best to find him a new career.  We photographed Sportini only three days after he had raced — and won! — and he showed no ill effects at all.  We felt both knees, and they were both cold and tight with no filling. Sportini has raced 9 times this year and has compiled an admirable record of three wins, four seconds, and a third.  His trainer reports that this excellent racing record is a testament to how much heart and try Sportini has — and he is looking to put that willing attitude to work in the new discipline of your choice! He is sired by Elusive Quality, who is from the Gone West sire line. His dam is a daughter of the great Bernardini, a son of AP Indy. Sportini comes from the top quality Godolphin breeding program.  Sportini is so well behaved as a colt that you could keep him intact and use him in sport horse breeding while also competing him — but just imagine what a glorious gelding he will be!
