Here is the second of the sweet “Starship sisters” that we photographed on the same morning! Metro is the little sister of Starship Rockette, and like her older sister she too is a pretty sweetheart, friendly and very appreciative of peppermints.  Metro is a very fancy lofty mover, with a big floaty trot — we think she could be a great dressage or eventing or show hunter prospect for a child or smaller adult.  But with her petite stature and quick lightness on her feet, she also offers great appeal as a polo prospect.  Metro is clean legged and sound. She has 12 starts, with 1 win and 5 in the money finishes. Despite her 50% top three finishes, her owner prefers to focus on higher level racers, so he wants Metro to find a new career where she can excel.  The assistant trainer says Metro is good to handle and work with, but that when it gets very busy in the shed row she sometimes walks the back of her stall.  She thinks that Metro would love a home where she gets lots of turnout.  Although Metro is lighter framed than her sister, she will grow a bit more and fill out, since she is only 3.  She has very good balanced conformation, with a good sloping shoulder and hip angles and a good topline. She has an alert kind-eyed expression that is very successful at begging for more peppermints! Metro is by Alpha, who is by Bernardini, an AP Indy son.  Her dam is Starship Kitty by Tale of the Cat.  Bernardini has sired several horses who have gone on to find post-racing success in dressage and jumping disciplines, and we can envision the same success for Metro.
