We did a double take when this pretty mare with her shiny coat and dapples followed behind her doppelganger stablemate. Halleluiah! One of our volunteers was ecstatic that it was a day filled with so many beautiful dark bay mares (including this one)! This girl has a beautiful neck, a long, sloping shoulder, and a deep heart girth. She has powerful looking hindquarters with muscular gaskins. Overall, she gives the impression of a very solidly put together and nicely muscled mare. We could see her being successful in and versatile enough for a number of different athletic pursuits in her next career. She was described to us as being sound and without any stable vices, although, “she’s a girl”, but we think that she is a very lovely one at that. Even though she is being prepped to race on Monday, she was polite and respectful amidst the bustle of the early morning activities backside while we took pictures. This solidly built mare is by Two Step Salsa and out of a Successful Appeal mare. Her pedigree also includes several popular sport sires including Seattle Slew, Buckpasser, In Reality, Ribot , and Damascus. She has a perfectly respectable record with 4 wins in 31 starts and earnings exceeding $55,000. Unfortunately she hasn’t had any wins within the past two years, so her connections have decided to move her along to a new career before the end of the season. But she is entered to race on Monday (10/05) if you would like to see her run just once before you take this pretty girl (who we think is a lovely bargain) home!
