Tony’s owner/breeder was primping her when we met her in the barn to begin her photography session. She explained that Tony, a homebred out of a Stakes winning mare, has never raced because she bowed during a training session last year and, when brought back to the track this year, re-bowed the tendon. She is about three months into her stall rest rehab and we observed and palpated a low bow on her left front. Through tears, she relayed that she didn’t want to just put her in one of her fields without the prospect of a new career when she is rehabbed, but is very concerned that her beloved filly will be loved and well tended by her new people. When she brought her out of her stall we were wowed by Tony’s striking good looks. She is in excellent body weight with an amazing neck not usually seen in a filly. This is one gorgeous filly, with dapples for days and the gleam of excellent care. Strikingly Tony is by Smartthinkin’Tony (Smart Strike) out of Ruby’s Rocket, a multiple Stakes winning mare owned by the trainer/handler.
