Swagner 2012 16.1 h dk bay gelding

This dark beauty was bred by the same connections of our 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Swagner arrived at Finger Lakes after running at some of the premier tracks on the east coast — Saratoga, Belmont, Keeneland, Oaklawn. He broke his maiden at Churchill Downs.  He developed some knee issues last year, and was fully and properly rested and rehabbed, and he has returned to racing soundly this season, but isn’t as competitive as he once was, so his connections would like to retire him to a new career.  Our volunteers were impressed with his beautiful, solid bodied, uphill conformation and elegance and his nice flat kneed movement.  HIs owner said he is classy and good to work with and handle, but he is an energetic, intelligent and curious boy who will do best with an experienced rider.  He is by Maimonides, a son of Vindication and a grandson of Seattle Slew, and he is out of a mare by Forest Danger. Gulch, Deputy Minister, Dr. Fager, and Tom Rolfe are other notable names in his pedigree. Swagner is a great prospect for lower level hunters or dressage.
