Swinging at Siro’s, 2007 16.1h+ bay gelding: owner retained for racing

The class, intelligence, and quality of this gorgeous solid bodied horse with an uphill build and a strong shoulder were obvious to us as soon as he started posing. He’s a son of Malibu Moon, out of a Quiet American mare — a sport horse pedigree to drool over! He was a $135,000 yearling, and he has showed his heart and soundness with 12 wins, 15 seconds, and 10 thirds in a 75 race career, with earnings of nearly $175,000. He has even won two races this year. When a horse holds up this well and remains clean legged and competitive in a long race career like Siro has had, you know you are getting a sound and durable horse who will give you all he’s got for many more years. With so many wins, there are few race conditions left for him, so his trainer wants to find him a great new home that can bring out his talents for a new career. He is described as having a great personality, an easy keeper who loves all kinds of treats — peppermints, apples, carrots — and he deserves those treats! He can be ticklish to groom, but when turned out on the farm over the winter he is a puppy dog, according to the assistant trainer. He is a beautiful mover, as most Malibu Moon’s are, with suspension and reach. This is a serious sport horse prospect for many disciplines — we can see him excelling in eventing, dressage, or as a hunter/jumper. He is named after Siro’s, the famous bar/restaurant right outside the Saratoga Race Course, where many a racegoer has enjoyed a swinging good time.
