The Black Cloud, 2009 16.1h grey/roan gelding

Here’s the silver lining for all your dark clouds!  This big gorgeous grey guy is ready for a new career because he just isn’t interested in putting forth a winning effort at the races anymore — he contends early in his races and then backs himself off.  His owner has had him thoroughly checked by a vet, to see if there is any underlying physical reason. The great news for a new career is that he is sound and scoped clean!  The Black Cloud showed lovely movement for his jog video, with good engagement from behind and good reach from his shoulders.  We spoke to his regular rider, who reported that he is very comfortable to ride, and is a strong galloper who can take hold of the bit. He certainly has the looks and movement quality to stand out in the show  hunter ring, or to make a great event horse.  His groom described him as a good boy, nice to work around.  He is a grandson of AP Indy with Nureyev, Hoist the Flag, Fappiano, and two crosses of Caro in his pedigree — good sport/jumping lines! Better call fast — this guy ticks all the boxes, and will be especially popular because of his flashy grey good looks!
