Here is a son or racing royalty, Animal Kingdom (by Leroidesanimaux), Kentucky Derby winner, who was bred to be a contender on racing’s most prestigious stages, but DNA doesn’t translate to stardom and Glommie didn’t get the memo! His first two races were last summer at Saratoga where he didn’t show prowess at the Maiden Special Weight level and he has dropped through the ranks and still doesn’t show racing prowess at Finger Lakes. He has had 17 attempts to break his maiden and his absolute final race will be on 9/4/19 at Finger Lakes, after he which he will be officially retired. His trainer thinks that he was meant to be a turf horse and would make an appealing eventing mount, and that he needs to mature and grow into himself to be successful in his next discipline. His demeanor during his photo session was impeccable and that’s the class breeding showing through. He is a lovely, young gelding with a boatload of potential with his looks, soundness, class and youth making him an exciting prospect for someone who recognizes his youth and can bring him along correctly.
